The Quantum Plus is the all-rounder product from WINTERSTEIGER's high-end Quantum range. It achieves excellent harvesting results with all kinds of small seeds, as well as with corn and soybean crops. As a result, this machinecan meet the very toughest of modern field trial requirements while also promising excellent prospects for the future of plant breeding and research. 

As well as providing all the same functions as the Quantum Core plot combine, the Quantum Plus boasts even greater comfort and various options for crop logistics. On top of that, it is even more user-friendly. Consequently, the Quantum Plus is positioned one configuration level above the Quantum Core, the base of WINTERSTEIGER's product line.

Separation of grain and air via innovative airfoil separator

An efficient means of separating the air from the grain is key to the downstream process steps. Designed to save space, the patented airfoil separator makes the separation process gentle, fast, and reliable. This innovative principle avoids circulating grain and a downward airflow, which could influence the weighing results. The same principle is also used in the separator for the sampler in the cabin.

Grain tank

The grain tank is a standard option and comes in two different sizes with a capacity of 700 or 1,100 liters. It is installed in the center section of the machine between the front and rear axles to ensure even weight distribution. A flap in the bottom allows for easy cleaning of the tank. A compressed air connection is also installed next to the upper grain tank door and can be used for a compressed air nozzle to simplify cleaning. 

Performance features of the grain tank: 

  • Electronic level indicator and window to the cabin 

  • Fast unloading speed for emptying the entire tank in less than 2 minutes 

  • Hydraulic, folding unloading auger with an overhead loading height of 3.2 m, optionally 4.2 m 

  • Easy cleaning for seed multiplication and basic seed harvest 

Sampling methods

Quantity-controlled sample definition 

Sample definition with the Quantum Plus is clear-cut and offers a wide range of options. The "Easy Sample" module in the harvesting software is used to predefine the type of sample or combination of samples. 

The sample volume is determined using a simple, manual process. This can also be done without the use of tools on the side of the machine.The sample volume is adjustable within a certain range. The following sample definition variants are supported: 

 

  • Small sample: 200700 ml 

  • Large sample: 7002,000 ml 

  • Double sample (small and large sample combined) 

 

Timed sample definition 

Sample definition using a time-controlled sample flap allows larger, plot-homogeneous samples to be taken. Once a defined time has been preset on the on-board computer, the material can then be sampled by the operator using the sampler in the cabin. The maximum sample size of the time-dependent sample is 20 liters, the repeatability of the sample amount is approximately five percent. 

Sampling in the cabin

Sampling is performed in the cabin as per the sample definition. The operator presses a button to start the process. An optional foot switch is also available to keep both hands free for sampling.The sampling system is dust-free, so the cabin does not become contaminated.If the harvested seeds amount to less than 20 liters, the system can be used to bag the entire plot in the cabin. Sampler

  • Monitored sampling system: The system stops when the next sample is ready and the previous sample has not yet been taken.

Radar sensors for detecting the harvested material can be installed in the conveying lines to the weighing system and from the weighing system to the sampler in the cabin. The sensor data is used to determine whether there is still harvested material in the conveying lines. The information from the sensor also forms the basis for controlling the various flaps. The advantage here is that the flaps work depending on the actual material flow, and preset timer settings are overwritten. Low volumes of harvested seeds pass through the system faster than high quantities, which can reduce the cycle time based on yields (optional).

Sample storage

The sample storage integrated between the cabin and the grain tank is an innovative and handy solution. This feature increases the efficiency of the Quantum Plus enormously without impacting the machine width and stability.

WINTERSTEIGER NIRS system solution for crop analysis

The presentation of the harvested material has a significant influence on the quality of the NIRS analysis data. With the aid of WINTERSTEIGER's system solution, the harvested material passes the measuring head in a controlled manner, thereby ensuring a representative analysis of the entire plot. Thiis way of presenting the harvested material is suited for all kinds of crops from rapeseed to grain and legumes to corn. 

The Easy Harvest harvesting software also automatically assigns the NIRS analysis data to the corresponding plot and saves it. The WINTERSTEIGER NIRS system solution comes equipped with POLYTEC contact measuring instruments as standard. Other NIR measuring instruments are available upon request.
