Optimized driver's cabin: comfort and convenience in the Quantum Plus

The cabin, cockpit, and operating elements of the WINTERSTEIGER Quantum Plus are tailored entirely to the needs of users. For instance, the ergonomic design is all about reducing fatigue factors and making it easier to concentrate. Premium cabin for fatigue-free working

Clear, accessible layout

The driver's seat is slightly off-center to provide ergonomic access to the operating elements. The operator also has enough space to work comfortably.

Noise reduction

The premium cabin has a low noise level of only around 76 dB(A), creating a pleasant working environment for the driver and operator. This noise reduction is achieved through curved windows, a decoupled mounting on cushioning elements, sound-insulating flooring, and the rear-mounted engine.

Maximum safety

The cab is tested and certified according to the standard EN 13531 – tip-over protection structure (TOPS) to ensure user safety in emergencies.

Comfortable conditions in the cab

The powerful air-conditioning system inside the driver's cab delivers a cooling output of 8.7 kW even at high outdoor temperatures.

Strain-free sitting positions

The Quantum Plus plot combine has comfortable, ergonomic seats for the driver and operator, which are also available with air suspension.

User requirements accommodated in the driver's cabin

  • Height and angle of the steering column are adjustable, offering the driver unbeatable comfort. 

  • The multi-function lever is built into the armrest and moves with the driver's seat to ensure reliable operation. 

  • All harvesting mode functions are controlled using the multi-function lever, so the driver can keep their hand on the lever at all times. The following control mechanisms are available: 

  • Ground drive forward/reverse 

  • Raise/lower header 

  • Raise/lower reel 

  • Control reel speed 

  • Quick stop for header 

  • Activate differential lock/all-wheel drive system (optional) 

  • Switch between fast and slow driving speed 

  • Reel forward/reverse or open/close picker bars 

  • Start sequence control 

All other operating and functional elements are ergonomically located on the control panel.

Stay in charge with the on-board computer

  • Single 7" color screen with intuitive, cutting-edge design visualizes all machine parameters. 

  • Direct connection to engine management ensures regular monitoring and notification options. 

  • Self-diagnosing CAN bus system for checking the functionality of all connected peripherals as well as for easy maintenance and troubleshooting. 

  • User-friendly service menu to check all combine functions, including inputs/outputs and sensor data. 

  • Intuitive menu navigation using function keys. 

  • Integrated USB port for easy software updates. 

  • When reverse gear is selected, the image from the optional rear-view camera is automatically displayed on the main screen of the combine. 

  • The reel speed can be linked to the driving speed of the combine. This means that the reel will accelerate along with the combine so material continues to flow into the header at a consistent, even pace. The speed of rotation is usually slightly higher than the driving speed and can be set as a percentage value. 

  • The machine drives at maximum speed when the drive lever is moved as far as it will go. For example, 0–100 % on the lever corresponds to 0–4 km/h, so the speed can be defined more precisely and selected with greater accuracy. The set maximum speed is normally the same as your target harvesting speed. However, you can simply move the lever to 100 % rather than setting the desired harvesting speed after each plot. 

Easy Cycle automatic sequence control

The powerful 7" screen forms the basis for our Easy Cycle automatic sequence control. Thanks to the fully automatic process, thedriver can control the entire machine with two pushes of a button in the alley.  

 

The process is as follows:  

  • On reaching the alley, the cycle button is pressed while the drive lever remains in the forward position. The machine stops automatically, the header is raised all the way, and the reel is lowered to remove stalks and awns from the cutting bar. The header is then cleaned with compressed air. You can individually configure the duration and number of air jets. 

  • After the harvested material has passed through the thresher, the cleaning blower is run at maximum speed to clean the sieve area. If the machine has a pneumatic adjustable sieve, it opens at the same time to clear away any trapped awns or stems. 

  • The weighing cycle starts automatically as soon as there is no harvested material to be detected by the radar sensors. If the next plot is ready for cutting, the driver will receive a visual signal. When the cycle button is pushed a second time, the machine then starts driving again at the same speed. 

 
The Easy Cycle automatic sequence control ensures that each plot is processed in exactly the same way so the results can be more readily compared. This also prevents operating errors, reduces stress for the driver, and the system can be overwritten whenever needed. 

Folding steps

The Quantum Plus has a special feature for harvesting core plots. After the cab door is closed, automatic folding steps move up without operator intervention so that no plants get caught in the steps while harvesting. When the cab door is opened, they automatically fold down again, so the driver can get down safely.
