Everything is connected: the first machine for Fischer Ski
In 1936, Fischer Ski started making skis and built a new ski factory on the outskirts of Ried im Innkreis in 1964. By 1970, Fischer Ski had become the largest ski manufacturer in the world. At the same time, the Ried-based companies Scheuch, WINTERSTEIGER, and Fill were also growing, making extraction systems, ski service machines and ski production machines respectively.
WINTERSTEIGER also began producing machines needed for ski production, such as presses and planers, in 1963:
- Wedge-planing machines: sold through Mähler in Munich
- RTB indexing press: only a few units produced, worked with air
- Bonding machine: a press in the shape of a star, each arm moved at one-minute intervals
In 1963, Wintersteiger had 25 employees and a turnover of 284,000 euros (at the time: 3.9 million Austrian schillings)
Course correction and Sports is created.
In 1978, WINTERSTEIGER decided to switch to ski service machines and laid the foundation for the Sports division. WINTERSTEIGER is still the world leader in this field.
