Mechanical seed drill
WINTERSTEIGER tractor-mounted seed drills with mechanical seed drive have been developed for precision sowing. The Plotseed S has been specially developed for sowing on trial plots. The distribution systems can be used to distribute seed over several rows. The Rowseed S, on the other hand, is ideal for precision sowing of seeds from a single ear or individual ears. The machine also allows the comparison of individual ears and their offspring. The various spreading systems allow the seed in the ear to be distributed evenly and without mixing across the row. Both tractor-mounted models are equipped with a universal modular system that ensures perfect adaptation to a wide range of tasks.

Feeding systems for plot seeders
Seed is supplied to the Plotseed S or Rowseed S distribution system by a filling funnel, rotary distributor, predistributor, or chamber magazine.

Various distribution systems are available for the Plotseed S and Rowseed S machines and can also be combined. Mounting two distribution systems side by side or behind/in front of one another makes it possible to plant and/or spread fertilizer or micro-granulate on two plots simultaneously.

Plot drill slope compensation
Thanks to slope compensation, the seed is distributed evenly in the belted cone or cell wheel and distribution gears. If you are planting on flat terrain, you can work without slope compensation.

Global Seed Control (GSC) is a perfect solution for the WINTERSTEIGER single row seeders and meets the highest requirements in terms of precision and control.

Monitoring of all critical functions and display indicating source of malfunction: for plot drilling, this means that the rotary distributor current is monitored to block feeding or the funnel stroke in case of a malfunction. In the case of single row seeding, meanwhile, the motor current is monitored for the magazine feed, and a warning is issued for empty magazines.

Distance measurement system via measuring wheel
The measuring wheel makes planting significantly easier since there is no need for field markers. The GSC control unit provides the following functions in combination with the measuring wheel:
- The planting cycle is triggered by a signal from the measuring wheel.
- The system provides a warning signal in case of excessive speed.
