Growing nicely: The product range for seed breeding
Between 1975 and 1981, Division Seedmech developed four main series production products for seed breeding, including the Nursery Master 1300 plot combine in 1976. This combine was characterized by a particularly lightweight construction. With around 1,000 machines sold, the Nursery Master was a a very successful model for a decade.
Another milestone was the development of a plot drill seeder. Until this point WINTERSTEIGER had not had a sowing system for plot drill seeding, but only a single row sowing system. Therefore, starting in 1975, the "Oyjord Plot Drill" was built on license from Egil Oyjord of Oslo, Norway. At the same time, the "Plot Spider" was being developed for precision spaced planting. The "Plotmaster" product line with a tool carrier, corn harvester, and a shredder for corn and green fodder was also developed in this period.
By 1975, WINTERSTEIGER had 80 employees. Seedmech and Sports were about the same size in the early 1980s.
