WINTERSTEIGER takes controlling interest in TRIALS Equipment UK LTD (www.trialseq.co.uk). Based in Wethersfield, Essex, UK, the TRIALS Equipment develops, manufactures, and sells machines and equipment for field research that are primarily purchased by customers based in the UK.

TRIALS has also been a sales partner for WINTERSTEIGER in Great Britain over many years and, since 2018, has also supplied special solutions (e.g., Tool Carrier and straw scales) in the region. This acquisition will enable WINTERSTEIGER to strengthen its market position in Great Britain and integrate a highly flexible development partner with experience in very small seed breeding runs into the WINTERSTEIGER network.

Since its foundation more than 40 ago, TRIALS has grown to become the UK market leader in machines, equipment, and services for field trials. Founder and now minority shareholder Colin Coleman will stay with the company for the time being, and will manage the business jointly with SEEDMECH Division Manager Christopher Schiehauer. The TRIALS brand and the Wethersfield site will be retained.
