Strube Research in Söllingen, Germany, harvests high yields of wheat; a combine threshes approx. 9000 plots within a 100 kilometer radius in 20 days. At the DLG conference in Hanover on January 26, 2016, Alexander Kirchherr, Technical Director of the Wheat Department at Strube, reported on his initial experiences with the Quantum:

“Even though the machine that we had was a prototype, we were able to thresh without any interruptions. There was no downtime worth mentioning.

The cutting unit won hands down! The stepped edge means the grains fall onto the feeder conveyor belt ears first. so there is nothing to block the split auger. The all-round vision is superb!

Threshing quality is outstanding! We can thresh wheat with the absolute minimum of broken grains, and fully thresh out the grains.

The controls are intuitive and super easy to use. This thresher is ideal for use by sub-contractors. They just need to push a button on the joystick for the thresher to stop, lower the reel, start the cleaning cycle, and weigh the harvested material. They then push the button again and the machine sets off once more at the same speed as before.

For us at Strube, this thresher is definitely an option!”

Australian Grain Technologies AGT used 2 Quantum plot combines during the 2015 harvest. Phil Keatley, Director of Infrastructure at AGT, confirms the performance of the plot combine:

“Thanks to the long-standing relationship between WINTERSTEIGER and Australian Grain Technologies (AGT), we were able to purchase two of the Quantum combines from the 2015 model year at the same time. This gave both WINTERSTEIGER and AGT the chance to trial the new combine in a totally new and different environment.

We were impressed with the performance of the combine during the 2015 harvest. Following the 2015 harvest, AGT placed an order for several new Quantum combines to enhance and update the older models in our current fleet. The super support from WINTERSTEIGER during our 2015 harvest clinched our decision to go ahead with ordering a larger quantity of Quantums.”
