2021 Photo Competition—Congratulations!

This year's jury unanimously selected Luis Vendrell of Agricultura Ensayo in Spain as winner of the 2021 photo competition.

His unique photograph shows a fork of lightning, which he would have had no more than a second to capture. Photographing thunderstorms is also more difficult during the daytime than at night. The image perfectly captures the special atmosphere: the storm is very close by yet harvesting still needs to be completed—a situation all seed breeders will be familiar with.
